
The Borzoi (Russian: Ру́сская псовая борзая, meaning agile) is a Russian hunting dog that specializes in hunting wolves, similar to the Greyhound, they are a chasing dog of aristocratic lineage. This is a long-standing Russian hunting dog, medium-sized, dignified, racing, gentle and calm but full of energy. The main advantages of this breed are hunting (it can hunt wolves), keeping as pets and keeping houses. In Vietnam, Borzoi is often called a poodle dog because of its long ruffled coat.
History
Borzoi were first brought to Russia from the Arabian region in the 1600s. They have an elegant appearance that is highly valued for their loyalty, due to being bred from long-haired sheepdogs and used as pets. Warriors hunt wolves. They were favored by Russian aristocrats of the Tsarist era. The Russian nobility bred and used this breed for hunting. This noble breed has spread throughout Europe. Queen Victoria also used to breed this breed of dog, and set an example for the nobles of the Kingdom. This breed gradually became a gift among the nobility.
Structure
This is a medium-sized dog, they are more than 70 cm tall and long legs have made him taller, their body is arched with sloping shoulders, and a loosely curved tail. Long coarse head, long pointed snout, drooping ears, long neck, deep chest, straight back with an inclination to the end of the body, straight high front legs, rear legs spread out, cat popsicles. They have long, pointed and strong jaws and are quite strong. A long and strong neck is one of the distinguishing features of this breed. They also have a black nose, and eyes are usually dark and oblong. The ears are normally pressed against the neck, but when agitated, they will stand upright. The back is slightly curved, creating a rather lovely appearance. The chest is a bit narrow, but quite deep.

The smooth, long coat can be slightly curled and is concentrated quite heavily around the neck. Borzoy dogs are available in white, yellow, brown or gray with white. Their long shaggy coat has many different colors, can be white with patches of dark brown and yellow, sometimes the whole body is white but the face is yellow-brown. Male dogs can mate at 24-26 months old, female dogs can breed at the age of 18-20 months, female dogs give birth to 4-7 puppies per litter.
Health
Stated life expectancy is 10 to 12 years. Median lifespan based on a UK Kennel Club survey is 9 years 1 month. 1 in 5 died of old age, at an average of 10 to 11.5 years. The longest lived dog lived to 14 years 3 months. Dogs that are physically fit and vigorous in their youth through middle age are more vigorous and healthy as elderly dogs, all other factors being equal. In the UK, cancer and cardiac problems seem to be the most frequent causes of premature death.
